At the Invitation of the Vice President of the Republic of India, Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Vice-Senior General Maung Aye paid an Official Goodwill Visit to India from 2 to 6 April 2008.
Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party arrived at New Delhi Airport.
Vice-Senior General Maung Aye called on President of the Republic of India at the Presidential Palace at New Delhi
The MOUs singed after Vice-Senior General Maung Aye cordially discussed with Vice-President of the Republic of India.
H.E. U Nyan Win, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar and H.E. Pranab Mukherjee, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India signed the Framework Agreement between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of the Union of Myanmar for the Construction and Operation of a Mulit-modal Transit Transport facility on Kaladan Rivver connecting the Sittwe Port in Myanmar with the State of Mioram in India and other related Protocol on Facilitation and Protocol on Maintenance and Administration.
H.E U Kyi Thein, Ambassador of the Union of Myanmar to the Republic of India signed the Agreement on Exchange of Intelligence Information and then, also signed with Mr. P.K. Misharah, President of the Central Taxation Board of Ministry of Finance of the Republic of India, the Agreement of Avoidance of Double Taxation.
Vice-Senior General Maung Aye visited Buddha Historical site at Sanchi , Bophal City.
Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party visited Crude Oil Refinery in Panjab State.
Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and party visited some Satellite Station Department
